Introducing the Feed Fabrik Feed Directory: 500+ Curated Feeds Ready to Import

4 min read

Finding quality feeds can be challenging. Search engines don’t index feed URLs well, websites often hide their feed links, and discovering new sources means clicking through dozens of sites hoping they offer a feed.

We’re solving this with the Feed Fabrik Feed Directory - a curated collection of over 500 high-quality feeds (RSS, Atom, and more), ready to browse and import.

What Is the Feed Directory?

The Feed Directory is a searchable, filterable database of professionally curated feeds from across the web. It includes feeds from major news outlets, technology blogs, science journals, sports sites, and more - supporting RSS, Atom, and other feed formats.

Every feed has been categorized by:

  • Category - News, Technology, Science, Sports, Culture, Business, and more
  • Country - UK, US, Germany, France, Netherlands, and others
  • Language - English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, and more
  • Type - News outlets, blogs, podcasts, video channels

You can search by title or tag, filter by any combination of attributes, and build your perfect feed collection.

How It Works

Use the search bar to find feeds by title, topic, or keyword. Or use the filters to narrow down by category, country, language, or feed type.

Looking for technology news from UK sources? Filter by “Technology” category and “UK” country. Want science blogs in English? Filter by “Science” and “en” language.

2. Add to Your Basket

Found a feed you like? Click “Add to Basket” and it’s saved to your collection. The basket works like a shopping cart - you can add multiple feeds, review your selections, and remove anything you don’t want.

Your basket is saved in your browser, so you can browse the directory over multiple sessions and build your collection gradually.

3. Export to OPML

When you’re ready, click “Export OPML” to download your feed collection as an OPML file. OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) is the standard format for importing feeds into RSS readers.

The exported file organizes your feeds by category, making it easy to see what you’ve selected.

4. Import into Feed Fabrik

Open Feed Fabrik, go to Settings > Import/Export, and import your OPML file. All your selected feeds will be added instantly.

The directory works with any RSS reader that supports OPML import - not just Feed Fabrik. Use it with Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, or any other reader you prefer.

What’s Included

The directory currently includes over 500 feeds across these categories:

News - BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, New York Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, Vox, CNN, and many more

Technology - TechCrunch, Ars Technica, The Verge, Wired, Engadget, Hacker News, and tech-focused publications

Science - Nature, Scientific American, New Scientist, science sections from major news outlets

Business - Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, business sections from major outlets

Sports - ESPN, BBC Sport, The Athletic, sports coverage from major news sources

Culture - Arts, entertainment, and cultural coverage from major publications

And many more specialized feeds across different topics and regions.

Why We Built This

Web feeds (RSS, Atom, etc.) are powerful, but feed discovery is broken. Most websites hide their feed links (if they offer them at all). Search engines don’t index feeds well. And manually searching for feeds means visiting dozens of sites one by one.

We wanted to make feed discovery as easy as finding a new show to watch. Browse the directory, add what looks interesting, export, and import. Done in minutes instead of hours.

The directory also helps new feed reader users get started quickly. Instead of the blank slate problem (where do I even start?), new users can explore curated feeds and build a collection that matches their interests.

What’s Next

This is version 1 of the directory. We’re planning several improvements:

  • More feeds - We’ll continue adding feeds across more topics, languages, and regions
  • Feed validation - Automated checking to ensure all feeds are still active and updated
  • User submissions - Let the community suggest feeds to add to the directory
  • Feed ratings - Quality metrics based on update frequency, content quality, and user feedback
  • Smart recommendations - Suggest feeds based on what you’ve already added to your basket
  • Collections - Pre-made feed bundles for specific interests (e.g., “Tech News Starter Pack”)
